Receiving a stacked order

When you're online with Deliveroo you've probably been offered two orders from one restaurant or grocery partner at the same time.

We call this a stacked order - it's designed so you can earn more in less time by reducing your travel back and forth. Plus it helps us provide a more efficient service to our customers.

This means that you can collect two orders from different partners in the same area. You'll be able to deliver both to nearby customers to complete more orders in less time.

Stacked orders from different partners will pop up in the rider app, along with the map and address of both partners and both customers. You could also be offered stacked orders from another, different partner after you arrive at the restaurant. We'll show you the full fee you'll receive for completing both orders. You can use all this information to choose whether to accept or reject the orders.

If you choose to accept any stacked order, make sure to keep orders separate in a thermal bag to avoid any potential cross-contamination. In particular, it’s important to keep hot and cold items from different orders separate.

As with all orders, you have complete freedom to choose whether or not to accept stacked orders, and you can unassign from one or both orders if you no longer want to complete them.

We hope that these improvements will help you to complete more orders to earn more and make the most of your time on the road. We'll be closely monitoring how this new feature improves the experience for riders, partners and customers, and we would love to hear your feedback.

FAQs

What is a stacked order?

When two different customers close to each other order from the same or two nearby partners, we sometimes offer both orders to one rider. We call this a stacked order.

Stacked orders might be offered to you at or around the same time or, after you've accepted an order, we might offer you a second order while you're travelling or waiting at the restaurant.

Stacked orders mean you can earn more in less time - but it's completely up to you which orders you choose to complete, and you're free to reject or unassign from any order.

Collecting stacked orders

At the restaurant (or restaurants), you can confirm the order numbers in the rider app and speak with the staff to check whether all the order items are included and packed securely in separate bags.

Riding safely

Your safety is our priority, and that includes when you’re on the road delivering orders. Taking care when riding helps protect you and other road users. When riding  to the customer it also helps to prevent spills and ensure the food arrives undamaged.

With the customers

It’s important to deliver the correct order to each customer. It helps to double-check the order number in the rider app at the customer’s door, before dropping off the order.

Remember, keeping stacked orders separate is extremely important to prevent the risk of contaminating the food. This is critical for customers who suffer from allergies – it could save their life.
