A new way to confirm your arrival at the restaurant

We are aware that restaurant wait times can vary, which is why we're focused on improving your delivery experience.


That’s why, to let you know if an order is ready in advance or if the restaurant needs more time – and to make your pickup easier – partners will now have two new options: “Order ready” and “Need more time.”

At the same time, to help restaurants have more accurate information about your arrival, a new feature is coming.

Deliveroo NFC tags will soon be available at restaurants (see example below) and will be displayed inside the venue to give you the chance to confirm your arrival.

When you arrive at the restaurant, you can tap “Arrived” as usual and then bring the back of your phone close to the tag. This way, the restaurant will immediately know you are there and ready to collect your order.

Please note: you don’t need to use your phone’s camera. With Deliveroo NFC tags, simply hold your device close to the tag.

If you can't find the Deliveroo tag, we suggest asking the restaurant staff to show you where it is.

If you don't see this feature on your phone yet, it might be because the tag is not yet available at the restaurant. In case you don't find it, you can pick up the order as you usually do. We remind you that this new update is designed to improve your delivery experience.

FAQ

How can I inform the restaurant of my arrival?  

When you arrive at the restaurant, you can hold the back of your phone close to the Deliveroo tag.


Once you do this, the restaurant will be informed that you have arrived to pick up the order, and the status will automatically change to "Arrived".

What should I do if I can't find the Deliveroo tag at the restaurant or if it doesn't work?  

If the tag doesn't seem to work, try removing your phone from its case and try again. If the problem persists or the tag is damaged or missing, we suggest informing the restaurant staff and contacting the Rider Support Team via Live Chat for assistance. 

My phone does not have the NFC function enabled, so I can't use the Deliveroo tag at the restaurant.  

If you are using an Android device, you can enable the NFC function in the phone settings. For iOS users, the NFC function is enabled automatically, and no settings need to be changed. If your phone does not support NFC, you will continue to pick up orders as usual.
