Compensation

Minimum per delivery

Compensation will be determined on the basis of the estimated time to complete the delivery. Minimum compensation is equivalent to €10 gross per worked hour.

In the event that the time estimated for the delivery is less than one hour, the fee of that delivery will be re-parameterized proportionally to its estimated minutes.

Additional indemnity & bonus

Additional indemnity

In addition to the minimum compensation, an additional indemnity will be due upon the occurrence of one or more of the following circumstances:

A. deliveries during night time;

B. deliveries during festivities;

C. deliveries with adverse weather conditions. The source of the data used is Weatherkit.

In particular:

-10% in the case of the presence of one circumstance;

-15% when two of the circumstances previously described occurred (for example if you are delivering and outside it’s raining and it is also Christmas);

-20% when all the three circumstances occurred.

Reward system

When you’ll complete 2000 deliveries in each calendar year (from 1 January to 31 December) you will receive a reward of €600. When you’ll complete 4000 deliveries in each calendar year (from 1 January to 31 December) you will receive a reward of €600 and when 6000 deliveries are completed in each calendar year (from 1 January to 31 December) you will receive a reward of €300.

Incentive for new cities and zones

Deliveroo will correspond a €7 incentive for the first 4 months from the new cities and zones launches when you haven’t received any delivery proposals; You will receive an additional incentive to ensure a minimum compensation equivalent to euro €7 when you have completed a delivery with a fee that is less than €7.

Minimum orders incentive

During each session we’ll try to offer you as many orders as possible; if it’s not possible, you will get an incentive for that session.

You can still choose to reject any orders you don’t want to deliver, but as these were offered to you, you won’t get the minimum order incentive. To get the incentive we'll take into consideration the minutes you are online during each session. Moreover, you should have participated for at least 75% of the session.

Other

Sometimes extra payments and bonus will be available in your zone.

When and how I get paid?

When: we will initiate the money transfer to the bank account linked to the provided IBAN code before the 10th day of the month following the service you offered.

Payment-related documents: Deliveroo will generate a payslip or invoice (depending on your TAX regime) on behalf of the Rider each time a payment is sent out (self-billing).

Our updated system eliminates the requirement for you to submit a signed payslip or create your own e-invoice, as the document generated by Deliveroo holds tax value, making it a hassle-free process.

In essence, you no longer need to worry about remembering to send us payment-related documents every month. Your payment will be automatically processed and sent by the 10th of the following month.

VAT holder Riders:

Starting from the 1st of January 2024, all VAT Riders are required to submit their invoices in electronic format only, paper invoices are no longer accepted.

With the introduction of our new self-billing feature, Deliveroo can now handle the generation of electronic invoices on behalf of Riders (within 12 days from the payment). These invoices will be accessible directly through the SDI portal.

Each payment will continue to include a PDF summary document of your deliveries, sent via email and available on the Deliveroo Rider App. This PDF will outline the specifics of your deliveries, including any bonuses and tips. The official invoice will be accessible on the SDI portal in the subsequent days.

It is very important that all your tax-related details are always up-to-date, as Deliveroo will issue invoices on your behalf based on the information you provided (tax regime, VAT number, tax number).

The stamp duty

  • Prestazione occasionale riders (-20% WHT): if the gross amount of the payment exceeds €77.47, the stamp duty will be electronically added to the document, therefore a €2 amount will be automatically deducted from the net amount of your payment; so you no longer have to physically buy the paper version of the stamp duty by yourself. Deliveroo will then pay the amount on your behalf to the Italian Tax Authority.
  • Forfettari Riders (0% VAT): if the gross amount of the payment exceeds €77.47, the stamp duty will be detailed on the electronic invoice. However, it remains your responsibility to pay the stamp duty amounts to the Tax Authority via F24 every 3 months. For further information, please contact your accountant.

If you wish to opt-out from our self-billing system, you need to contact our Rider Support team. Let us remind you that you will still need to continue submitting your payslip or electronic invoices by the end of each month; failure to submit your payment-related documents or any mistakes in their issuance may result in a delay in your next payment.

We encourage you to use the dedicated form and avoid sending any emails regarding problems with your payments. Once you’ve sent the form, please bear with us while we investigate further.

Payments - FAQ

  • How and when do I get paid?

    Riders get paid for each delivery they make. You will be told of the delivery fee payable before you accept the order.

    Fees are paid every month and the payments are made to the bank account number, by the 10th day of the month following the deliveries.

  • What does minimum compensation mean?

    Each delivery will be paid considering the estimated time to complete it. This compensation is equivalent to €10 gross per worked hour.

    If, the time estimated is less than one hour, the amount due will be re-parameterized proportionally to the estimated time for the delivery to be completed.

  • What do I do if I don’t receive the receipt or if I lose it?

    You can retrieve receipts for payments that have already been sent. You need to open the Deliveroo Rider app and:

    1. Go to ‘Earnings’
    2. Tap on ‘Previous payments’
    3. Select the relevant period for the document you need
    4. Tap on ‘View invoice PDF’ to download the PDF file

      Please fill out this form should you experience other payment-related problems.
  • How do I recover the 20% tax payment that is deducted each month?

    Upon certain circumstances, you can recover this amount.
    We advise you to ask an accountant for further information.

  • How can I register for a VAT number?

    We advise you to ask a tax accountant.
    If you eventually decide to register for a VAT number, you will need to provide us with the full number and tell us what the applicable taxation is: full (“regime fiscale ordinario”), minimum (“regime fiscale minimo”), or flat-rate (“regime fiscale forfettario”) through this form.

  • The app suggests a route for each order – what does it happen if I take a different route?

    You’re free to choose whatever route you prefer to deliver your orders.

  • What are Deliveroo’s details for electronic invoicing?

    Below you can find Deliveroo Italy’s SDI code for electronic invoicing (full VAT applied):

    KUPCRMI

  • What are Deliveroo’s billing details for invoicing?

    Deliveroo Italy
    P.IVA 09214970965
    Via Carlo Bo, 11
    20143 Milano, Italia.

  • Why is 20% of my monthly payment being withheld?

    This is the amount of the income tax (IRPEF, Imposta sul Reddito delle Persone Fisiche) paid by Deliveroo to the income revenue authority (Agenzia delle Entrate).
    In this case, Deliveroo acts as a taxpayer, since you have signed a contract for work services on an occasional basis.
    The following year you will receive a certification (“Certificazione Unica”) showing all the deposited amounts, which you will need to process your tax return.

  • Why can’t the withholding tax exceed €5,000?

    The limit for gross income on an occasional basis is €5,000 per year.
    Upon reaching this amount, you can continue your collaboration with Deliveroo by using a VAT number (“Partita IVA”) for your taxation.
    We usually send alerts when you approach the €5,000 threshold to remind you to keep your earnings well tracked, but it's always your responsibility to keep track of what you earn (with Deliveroo or other companies) and avoid exceeding the threshold.
    For further information, we advise asking a tax accountant.

  • If I unassign myself from an order after I’ve picked it up at the restaurant, will I be paid?

    The delivery fee you see before accepting an order is the total fee for the delivery.
    It will be paid only once the order you accepted has been delivered.
    You can choose to reject or unassign from any order you are offered, however this means that you decline the fee offered.
    It is not possible to be paid for the pick-up only fee only if you choose to be unassigned from the delivery before it is completed.

  • Can I reject the orders I don’t want to deliver?

    Yes. You are completely free to choose which deliveries you want to complete and which you would rather reject.

  • How do I track my earnings after each session?

    Open the app and go to Earnings to keep tracking your earnings.
    You will see a list of all your past deliveries and their individual fees.

    You can’t see your daily details of the following earnings:

    Bonus ‘Refer a friend’

    Other extra bonus

    Adjustments

    Additional indemnity due to night work/festivities/adverse weather conditions

    You can also track your earnings through the payslip we send you each month – where earnings are listed based on delivery days.

  • Why is the amount in my invoice different from the one shown in the ‘Current summary’ section?

    The ‘Current summary’ section shows all your activity and earnings for a given period before a payment is processed.
    The monthly payment includes only the services carried out from the first to the last day of the previous month. (e.g. from the 1st to the 31st of March, from the 1st to the 30th of April, etc.).
    Payments are processed by the 10th day of the following month.
    As such, the current summary could be higher than the one on your invoice, since it includes the work carried out in the ongoing month too – which, however, will be paid the following month.

  • What if I haven't received my payments?

    Remember that, once you receive our payslip it can take up to 3 working days to receive the money into your bank account. If 3 working days have passed fill this form in.

  • Will I be paid more if it takes longer to deliver the order or if I choose a different route?

    With each delivery you will receive a certain fee to complete it. This fee will still stay the same if it takes longer than expected or if you choose a different route, however you are free to take your preferred route to complete the delivery.

  • Where do I find the details of the latest payments I received?

    Every time you receive a payment from us, you will also receive an email with the monthly invoice attached.

  • What is "temporary incentive for new cities and zones"?

    Deliveroo will correspond a €7 incentive for the first 6 months from the new cities and zones launches when you haven’t received any delivery proposals; You will receive an additional incentive to ensure a minimum compensation equivalent to euro €7 when you have completed a delivery with a fee that is less than €7.

    For example:

    – if you complete a delivery whose fee exceeds €7 within each consecutive 60 minutes, you can’t receive the incentive;

    – if you don’t receive any order proposals, within every 60 consecutive minutes, you’ll receive the incentive;

    – if you complete a delivery whose fee does not reach the value of the incentive, within every 60 consecutive minutes, you can receive an integration equal to the difference necessary to achieve the value of the incentive;

    – the refusal of even a single delivery proposal determines, in any case, the non-recognition of the incentive, within every 60 consecutive minutes and for its multiples (e.g. 120 minutes, 180 minutes …);

    – the refusal of a single delivery within 60 consecutive minutes will recognize you the incentive over a subsequent, but not consecutive, period of time.

    What does it mean?

    If you are online for several hours during the day and you refuse a delivery proposal during one of these, you won’t receive the incentive for either that hour or the consecutive ones. However, you will be eligible to receive the incentive for a next and non-consecutive hour (if you have not refused any delivery proposal).

  • What is the "reward system"?

    When you’ll complete 2000 deliveries in each calendar year (from 1 January to 31 December) you will receive a reward of €600. When you’ll complete 4000 deliveries in each calendar year (from 1 January to 31 December) you will receive a reward of €600 and when 6000 deliveries are completed in each calendar year (from 1 January to 31 December) you will receive a reward of €300.

  • What does it mean "deliveries during festivities"?

    25th of April, 1st of May, 2nd of June, 1st of January,6th of January, Easter day and the following Monday, 15th of August, 1st of November, 8th of December, 25th of December, 26th of December and the patron saint of the municipality where the company has its headquarters (Deliveroo’s one is 7th December).

  • What does it mean "deliveries during night time"?

    Delivery proposals accepted and actually completed between 00.00 and 07.00.

  • What does it mean deliveries with adverse or bad weather conditions?

    Precipitation of at least 2 mm per hour or snow, as resulting from data extracted from an independent meteorological database which is Weatherkit.
    You'll find the Additional indemnity in your monthly payslip and not in the app Deliveroo Rider.

  • What happens if the order I am collecting or delivering is canceled?

    Starting from August 2021, upon the occurrence of canceled orders (regardless of the reason for the cancellation), an indemnity will be provided in the next payment, to the item “Modifiche ed Integrazioni”.

    The indemnity will be 1€ (gross) and will be paid only if the order is canceled after at least 5 minutes from the assignment.

    This type of indemnity is at the discretion of the company and may vary over time. It is not necessary to report it via Rider website.

  • What kind of document numbering should I expect you to use for the invoices issued on my behalf?

    The electronic invoices we issue on your behalf adopt a unique sequential numbering that includes your Rider ID and the issue year; this is to comply with legal requirements and help you identify our invoices in case you are collaborating with other companies or issuing additional invoices manually.
